About Lutz Berger
Always with the motorcycle at heart
After completing his studies as an engineer in communications engineering, Lutz Berger co-founded DIGADES in 1991 with other shareholders. Even back then, he was already hitting the road on his MZ TS 250 and Yamaha XJ 550. Over time, DIGADES GmbH grew into a well-known electronics supplier for big names like Webasto, Audi, BMW, and Volkswagen in the automotive and motorcycle industries.
His love for motorcycles stayed with him throughout the journey. Over the years, he rode Yamaha XJ 600, Suzuki GSX 750 F, BMW R 1150 R, BMW K 1200 R, and BMW K 1300 R embracing the future with every turn.
After the complete takeover in 2011, Lutz Berger reshaped the company, making DIGADES an independently managed family business. They set clear goals and strong values, leading to successful reorientation. His Ducati Diavel and the Ducati Multistrada Pikes Peak were faithful companions during these transformative years.
In 2016, DIGADES launched its first product for motorcyclists – the DGUARD emergency call system in Europe, and already had their next innovation in the pipeline: the TILSBERK Head-Up Display, which became a reality in 2022.
This only fueled his passion for motorcycles even more. Lutz Berger rode a Ducati Multistrada Enduro, a BMW R 1200 R, and currently cruises on the Harley-Davidson CVO Limited.
After a long preparation period, Lutz Berger handed over the reins of the company to his sons, Sascha and Tim, in 2021. They took the passion for two-wheelers to a whole new level by introducing the TILSBERK brand in 2022. And now, in 2023, they've gone even further, forming TILSBERK North America Inc. to offer their clever motorcycle products in America too.
Turning visions into reality requires above all courage and stamina. Innovations always take time to be accepted and introduced across the board. Those who firmly believe in their own abilities will also successfully put their ideas into practice, whether for a product or a service.
